Here is the information regarding our home meet on Tuesday, October 1.

• We will be running against Burr Ridge, at home.  Start and finish will be behind Praireview.
• All runners need to wear their Lakeview Cross Country shirt and green running shorts.
• We are anticipating a 4:15 start time.  Depending on the arrival of Burr Ridge; this might be delayed.
• Like our last meet, girls will run first, followed by the boys.  All runners will complete a 2 mile race.
•  If you are going to be driving your runner home, please sign the bright green "Sign Out Sheet".

Dear Cross Country Parents,

Coach Urbas and myself would like to thank you for the timer that you purchased for the team.  We are thrilled to have this timer, and the kids are already so excited to be able to see their times as they cross the finish line.  This will definitely increase their motivation with the ability to see what time they are coming in as.

Friday, September 27

Due to the half day attendance on Friday, September 27, we will not be holding practice after school.  We do urge students to run over the weekend to be ready for our back to back home meets on Monday, September 30th and Tuesday, October 1st.

• Transportation from Lakeview to Westmont, and back, will be provided. If you are going to be driving your runner home, please sign the bright green "Sign Out Sheet".  We cannot leave the meet until all the runners are accounted for.

Here is the information regarding our meet on Wednesday, September 18.

• We will be running against Butler and Eisenhower, at Eisenhower Junior High.  Please see attachment for directions( Eisenhower directions ).
• All runners need to wear their Lakeview Cross Country shirt and green running shorts.
• We are anticipating a 4:00 start time.  Depending on the arrival of teams, this might be delayed.
• Like our last meet, girls will run first, followed by the boys.  All runners will complete a 2 mile race.
• Transportation from Lakeview to Eisenhower, and back, will be provided. If you are going to be driving your runner home, please sign the bright green "Sign Out Sheet".  We cannot leave the meet until all the runners are accounted for.

Troy Invitational Information

TROY Invitational 2013

Bus leaves at: 6:45 sharp!!Students should show up to school in their uniform. You shouldn't need to go to your lockers in the gym or hall.

There are approximately 50 schools running in this invitational. It should be fun and a great experience.

Tentative times for the races!!

8:00-8:30 Walk the course

8:30-8:45 Stretching, put on race numbers.

8:30 - Coach's Meeting

9:00 6^th Grade Girls Race (one mile race)

9:15 6^th Grade Boys Race (one mile race)

9:30 7^th Grade Girls Race (two mile race)

9:50 7^th Grade Boys Race (two mile race)

10:30 8^th Grade Girls Race (two mile race)

11:00 8^th Grade Boys Race (two mile race)

Breakfast should be light,but be sure to eat something. You don't want to be running on a full stomach.

Write your goal time on your hand.

General Directions: Take I-55 south to the U.S. 52 (W. Jefferson) exit go west to Route 59 (Brook Forest Ave) turn right and go north. The school is just east on Black Rd.

There is no parking at the actual site of the meet Crossroads Elementary School. Parking is at Cromby Recreation Area (to the east of the school) and Holy Family Parish (south of the school). The school location for informational purposes and map search on the internet is: Crossroads Elementary School, 210 East Black Road, Shorewood, IL 60431). Do not park in the Crossroads Elementary parking lot, but athlete's may be dropped off there. You can park for free in the Holy Family Parish parking lot. This lot is south of the school. Take Route 59 south a little past the school and it is on the east side of the street.

We have been told NOT to park in the commercial/store/church (Dominick's, Hope Lutheran Church or Sharp Plaza) parking lots as towing may occur.

Bring food for after your race. You may want to bring some extra clothing, especially shoes and socks as they will probably get wet from the morning dew.

Bring money to eat at McDonald's on the way home.

Don't leave the meet unless your parents sign the “Sign Out” sheet.

Runners can leave at any time with their parents if they have prior commitments such as soccer games, etc.

Runners that don't go home with their parents will come back to school on the bus. We plan to leave from the meet after the awards ceremony. The awards ceremony is at approximately 11:30. I am guessing that will take about a half an hour. We should be home around 1:30-2:00.
